According to IGI, Richard Gillott married on 12 JUL 1768 at Wickersley to Sarah Armitage.

Gillott Lane, Quarry Field was named after this family.

William Gillott was born about 1811 in Hilst, Yorkshire, he married Christiana who was born about 1810 at Wickersley.

In 1833 William Gillott was a Quarry Owner and by 1850 as well as William senior, his son William was also recorded as a Quarry owner.

The 1881 census records Samuel Gillott aged 54, born Toxford, Nottingham, a Quarry Mason living in Wickersley, with his wife Ann, aged 58 born in Wickersley, and their son Arthur aged 20 also born Wickersley. By 1891 Arthur had left the family home.

Mathew Gillott aged 56, christened 14 NOV 1824 in Wickersley, also a Quarry owner was recorded in 1881, as a lodger at the home of Margaret Willis, a widow aged 66, also listed as Quarry owner, at Aldams Cottages Pinch Mill Road, Wickersley. In 1891 he was living alone.

The directory of 1879 lists Gillott(Matthew) & Willis, Quarry Owners and Grindstone Manufacturers and Richard Willis, Quarry Owner (Gillott and Willis).

By 1901 only Matthew Gillott, is listed in the directories, as a Quarry Owner, Grindstone Manufacturer and Stone Merchant, he is listed again in 1905.

Thomas Gillott married Sarah Hammerton Kent, who was daughter of Richard Kent of Rotherham, butcher, who died about 1817

Richard Kent had real estate at Kimberworth, and at Crich, Derbys, married to Ann, they had another daughter Elizabeth.

A John Gillott was killed in the Masborough Boat Disaster in 1841
